Basically this all started in January, and since then I’ve worked with OCR, Sumthing Else and all six of the bands listed on MM25 to get these albums done. They’re packed with love and fandom, and are well worth your time and money. Aside from VGMpire itself, these albums are my proudest accomplishment in years. Huge thanks to the musicians, to Larry / David / Shariq at OCR, and everyone else who helped make them happen.
While we wait for the new episode of VGMpire (which I'm currently editing, btw), why not sample some Mega Man remix love with this newly released (and extremely well done) tribute album, Mega Ran 10? There's even a vinyl version if you like pops and cracks all over your pristine…
Grab a map and some headphones for OverClocked ReMix's FIIIIIFTY FIIIIIFTH concept album, which focuses on all the great overworld and map tunes from the Mario universe! That means tracks from Super Mario World, Mario 3, New SMB 2 and everything in between. Grab it over here for free! I've only…
You know those albums that have like, just eight tracks but every single one is a masterpiece? That's the Marble Madness soundtrack. Every song in the game is hugely memorable, and now we have the amazingly rockin' tribute album from the folks behind Metroid Metal. Head over to the Bandcamp…

…..and ‘Slow Your Roll’ makes me imagine Antista either walking down the streets of SF with a cig and the booby glasses on, or lounging on a couch seductively… also wearing booby glasses. Really, any activity with the glasses on.
ok, now a whole story plays in my head as I listen to ‘Slow Your Roll’
– Chris walking to his lady friends house with confidence in his step. A box under one arm, there is a montage of him walking down the street shot from different angles and in slow-mo
Chris arrives at his lady friends house, and they are sitting on the couch (maybe a roaring fire in the fireplace, mood lighting is in effect). we find that the box is being used in a classic ‘dick in a box’ gambit.
chris is left standing in the hallway after the ‘dick in a box’ gambit ultimately fails. A montage follows of chris wandering the streets at night in disbelief, and alone. The following events may (or may not) occur:
– arm wrestling contests with random homeless people. the stakes – random snacks stashed in chris’ pockets. Ignoring who wins each match, chris jams the snacks in his mouth while spiking the wrappers to the pavement.
– flash mobs doing the ‘hand jive’ Sha Na Na style.
– shot gunning unsafe amounts of whiskey while pouring out his life story to the bartender
chris arrives at a strip club and attempts to find comfort in the arms of other women. realizing his last few dollars have been spent, he attempts to earn some cab fare for the ride home on the catwalk (prompting a second ‘dick in a box’ gambit with hastily assembled drink menus). This is ill-advised, and he is promptly thrown out of the club.
chris is lying in an alley reflecting on his choices as the song enters a more introspective tone. as the music picks up, chris shrugs and pulls out the emergency whisky flask from his pocket as he heads back into the night.
Chris hitchhikes back home with shady men, all of which have very cold hands.
